About us
The Free State International Rugby Institute (FSIRI) is operated by UXi Sport, and is one of the 6 national UXi International Rugby Institutes. The UXi International Rugby Institutes offer a High Performance Rugby Development Programme in conjunction with an academic qualification, and mental and life skills coaching. The programme allows for optimum development in the sport of rugby within a disciplined structure and provides the student with an opportunity to grow holistically as an individual, while completing a qualification through accredited providers, that will ensure employability during and also after rugby.
Through our comprehensive sport programme we develop individuals with key attributes and qualities that offer work-readiness and most importantly an embedded work ethic, that is driven by a dedicated professional team, that INSPIRES GREATNESS!
The Free State International Rugby Institute is based at the Toyota Stadium in the Free State where all of the players, juniors and seniors, work and train as one big family. Home of the Currie Cup in 2019, FSIRI provide many opportunities for young players who wants to kick start their rugby careers. FSIRI provide a one-stop shop for players, with all the facilities being available at the Toyota Stadium and also many interactions with the professional senior players.
At the Free State International Rugby Institute, you share the Toyota Stadium with the Professional Senior Cheetahs squad. You share the same facilities, ie. fields, gym, physio room, team rooms and recreation areas. By sharing the same space as the professionals, you are given the opportunity to cultivate a purpose-driven athletic experience.
Bloemfontein is most probably one of the best places to grow up in South Africa, with all of the necessary malls, restaurants and student life available in a small and safe environment. Not only is it one of the country’s capital cities but is commonly known as the “City of Roses”. The atmosphere that one feels in Bloemfontein is one based on an appreciation of family values, where quality of life is of prime importance. Business and family interests are combined, in a hand-in-glove way, with no reason for discord; cultures are intermingled in true South African style.
